Description
This one-day program enables participants to learn basic first aid for common injuries. With this course you will be able to provide assistance to those who are facing life-threatening injuries or medical conditions including choking, bleeding, shock and unconsciousness. You will know how to provide artificial respiration, CPR and use an AED. Our course meets the rigorous standards set by CSA Z1210-17, ensuring that participants receive high-quality training that aligns with industry requirements.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognition of life-threatening injuries promptly
- Provide intervention for life-threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives
- Demonstrate artificial respiration
- Demonstrate how to help a choking victim
- How to deal with shock and unconsciousness
- How to deal with severe bleeding
- CPR for an adult
- Demonstrate proper usage of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
Competencies: To obtain certification, participants must demonstrate their knowledge through a written competency check with a minimum pass mark of 75%. Additionally, they must successfully perform the required province-specific practical skills. Our comprehensive assessment ensures that participants are equipped with the necessary skills to provide effective first aid in real-world situations. Upon successful completion, students will be issued a training certificate valid for three (3) years. Please note that certificates are non-transferable.

CPR LEVEL C (CHILD AND INFANT) CAN BE ADDED ON TO ANY FIRST AID CLASS AT NO CHARGE (SELECT THE ADD-ON ON THIS PAGE), OR YOU CAN UPGRADE TO CPR LEVEL C WITHIN 90 DAYS OF COMPLETING FIRST AID FOR AN ADDITIONAL $35.00 - PLEASE CALL 403-934-5046 TO REQUEST
CANCELLATION POLICY: No shows will be charged the full course fee. Full Course fee will be charged unless cancelled 5 business days prior to course. Certification of training will not be released until payment for the course has been submitted.
RESCHEDULING POLICY: Training will be rescheduled to another available class and must be taken place within 6 months. If the training has not taken place within 6 months of the original start date Global Training Centre will consider the class cancelled by you and all deposits, fees and remaining balance will be forfeited.
