Industrial Fire II
Description
This half-day program provides the necessary knowledge in the use, care and maintenance of 30 lb. to 350 lb. fire extinguishers. The program includes classroom theory, as well as practical training on Global's Fire Field.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the components of the fire triangle and the chemical chain reaction involved in fire.
- Learn about the classification and ratings of fire extinguishers, including their specific applications and limitations.
- Explore in-depth the various dry chemical agents used in fire suppression.
- Gain knowledge of additional extinguishing agents beyond dry chemicals.
- Familiarize yourself with stored and cartridge-operated fire extinguishers ranging from 30 lb. to 350 lb.
- Recognize the inevitability of fire and the importance of fire safety at home.
Practical Exercise:
- Successfully extinguish six fires individually using a 30 lb. dry chemical extinguisher, demonstrating your competence in handling fire emergencies.
- Successfully collaborate with team members to extinguish three fires using 30 lb. fire extinguishers, showcasing your ability to work effectively as part of a fire suppression team.
- Successfully demonstrate your proficiency by successfully extinguishing a minimum 225 sq. ft. flammable liquid in-depth, or equivalent, pressured gas fire using a 350 lb., 150 lb., or 160 lb. sodium wheeled unit, displaying your capability to handle larger-scale fire incidents.
- Successfully showcase your teamwork and expertise by extinguishing a minimum 225 sq. ft. flammable liquid in-depth, or equivalent, pressured gas fire in a team aspect under self-contained breathing apparatus, emphasizing your skills in coordinated fire response and maintaining personal safety in hazardous environments.
Competencies:
To successfully complete the course, participants must meet the minimum standards, which include achieving a minimum pass mark of 70% on a written competency exam and successfully extinguishing the required fires.
Course Outline
PPE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS CLASS: Fire-retardant coveralls, steel-toed boots, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, outer-wear (suitable to weather conditions)

CANCELLATION POLICY: No shows will be Charged the full course fee. Full Course fee will be charged unless cancelled 5 business days prior to course. Certification of training will not be released until payment for the course has been submitted.
RESCHEDULING POLICY: Training will be rescheduled to another available class and must be taken place within 6 months. If the training has not taken place within 6 months of the original start date Global Training Centre will consider the class cancelled by you and all deposits, fees and remaining balance will be forfeited.
